Application Procedure

Key Points About the Application

  1. We require a $55 application fee
  2. We use Angelsoft as our application platform
  3. We strongly encourage you to fill in the Angelsoft application as completely as you can and not just to refer to information in your executive summary
  4. You need to remember your Angelsoft ID and password
  5. If selected, there will be an additional presentation fee of $200 that also covers dinner for two people

Application Steps

Step 1: Review all material in the Guidelines section of this website to determine if your company fits with the Sacramento Angels guidelines and decide the meeting at which you would like to present.

You must apply at least three weeks prior to the meeting. This gives the selection committee enough time to thoroughly evaluate all the applications that have been filed.

You will need to provide information in addition to your Executive Summary to apply to us. We use Angelsoft to collect applications (so if you have applied to another group using Angelsoft this process is very easy for you and you can use the information you have previously input into Angelsoft). (This is not the form you apply with, just an example; the actual form will be filled in online, as described in Step 2 below.)

We require that you fill out the form completely in Angelsoft as best you can EVEN if the same information is in your Executive Summary or other information you provide. Our members like to look at information in a standardized format so, for example, just referring to something in your Executive Summary on the form could lessen your chances of being selected. Some Members still like to read from paper and you can see how a print out of the Angelsoft application form is formatted within the Angelsoft application here.

Step 2: To apply via Angelsoft you need the do the following in this order:

  1. Click the "Apply Now" button on this page. You will be taken to a set of pages to pay the $55 application fee by credit card. After you have paid, you get a link in your online receipt and in your acknowledgement email to our Angelsoft application page. The fee must be paid prior to applying.
  2. With the link from above, enter the Angelsoft site and fill in the Angelsoft application answering all the sections as best you can. As stated above, to improve your chances of being selected do not refer to other documents you may upload.
  3. Upload your Executive Summary. Be aware that very long documents will not improve your chances and may lessen them -- similar to a short resume being better than a long one when applying for a job. Your goal at this point is to intrigue us with your opportunity not deluge us with information.
  4. You can update the information in Angelsoft whenver you want, but remember your password and id to get back in there.
  5. Once your application is complete, all members of our group have the opportunity to review it and comment on it. Our selections group will take all the input and if there is sufficient initial interest, contact you for an interview, either by phone or in person.
  6. If your application is accepted and you are invited to present, a $200 acceptance fee will be required which includes dinner for two company representatives at the Sacramento Angels meeting.

Step 3: We encourage companies to keep their applications current. Even minor changes may have a significant effect on your application and funding potential.
